New Trees at Lamar Middle School

Lamar Middle School’s new gardening club, Grow It Yourself (GIY), planted two trees in front of the gym on December 1 with help from local non-profit Sustainable Neighborhoods.

The trees will shade a new student pick-up area.  The school plans to install seating for the area as well.

Students will water the trees during the school year, and SN will organize a rotation of local residents to water once a week during the summer months for the first two years.
